Every day we experience things that either make us laugh, shake us or sometimes make us despair. Especially when an emergency is reported to us and an animal needs help.\u00a0<\/div>

Kitten alarm on Mallorca's streets!<\/h5>
At this time of year there are several reports every day, such as a mummy cat with babies found in a rubbish bin, kittens found, mummy has been run over by a car, heavily pregnant cat running around on a busy road, kittens in a cold cage at Natura Park (former killing centre) with sniffles and clogged eyes, crying out for love, attention, warmth and milk.\u00a0
We have taken in a recent emergency in which we have once again lost faith in humanity. A mum cat was looking for a place to hide to protect her babies from danger, and in her distress she found the terrace of a restaurant. The island of Mallorca is just coming out of hibernation and restaurants are reopening, so an animal looking for shelter and food is not welcome. It is not uncommon for us to receive threats on the phone that they will kill, drown or poison the animals or take them to an animal shelter if we don't take them away from where they are not wanted. This was the case with the mum and her original four kittens. One of the kittens died shortly after it was born on the street and one was abandoned by its mum because it was simply too weak. Our attempt to bottle-feed the little one was unfortunately in vain. Two of the rascals are in the best of health and are currently enjoying discovering the world with their mum at Finca Noah in a dry, warm, quiet and, above all, sheltered place. Mummy only lets us touch her babies with a smile, she really is a caring mummy and defends her babies like a lioness. Sometimes a bit scary, but we have patience with her, being a mum is not always easy.

At the end of April, 6 kittens came to us at Finca Noah. They had to watch as their mum was run over by a car while looking for food. Fortunately, the babies were found by the right people. In this case we are only a foster home. The 6 kittens will travel to Germany when they have reached the appropriate age. Their families are already eagerly awaiting them there. Kirstin has really done a great job for the kittens. Last summer I told you about a mum who had two babies with us. The three of them were also taken off the street in teamwork with Kirstin and us and brought to their forever homes.\u00a0<\/div>
More and more emergency calls are coming in every day. It gets worse every year. Only neutering street cats can help. You are welcome to donate to make neutering possible. We neuter over 200 cats a year. This work is very important and is the only way to alleviate the suffering on Mallorca's streets.\u00a0<\/div>

Vet house call with an unexpected outcome!<\/h5>
Our vet Toni paid a visit to Finca Noah. As you know that all our animals are neutered and vaccinated, some of them, especially dogs and cats, were due for their annual vaccination. We want to protect our animals in the best possible way with regular vaccinations and general checks. We take in so many animals whose history we do not know, so it would be irresponsible not to protect our animals from possible diseases and infections.
The little cat Oreo, who we took in in the summer of 2023 after he was rescued from drowning and certain death, had an extreme reaction to the vaccination. With the previous vaccinations, there were no signs that he could not tolerate them. This time, he suffered an allergic shock a few minutes after the vaccination. Our vet was still on site and immediately treated him with emergency medication. However, his condition did not improve. He could hardly breathe, vomited several times and had bloody diarrhoea. We immediately took him to the emergency clinic, where he had to stay for two days for treatment, tests and observation. Two restless nights that hardly let us sleep, as we are of course always on call in such cases and always available for the animals. The uncertainty of what will happen to our prot\u00e9g\u00e9 gives us no peace. Every time we have to hope and fear anew. He has recovered a little and is doing his best to keep us from working in the office. At the moment he is eating very little, and only when we keep him company. Oreo is not quite his old self yet. Another visit to the vet will be necessary. What hasn't changed is that he is still the biggest cuddler in the world. The little one can and may live on, we love him just as he is!\u00a0<\/div>

Cat hit by a car on the roadside!<\/h5>
The following night, our volunteer Gina called us, crying and visibly upset. When the phone rings so late, it doesn't mean anything good.\u00a0
Gina found a cat on the side of the road that had been hit by a car and left bleeding profusely. We don't even want to think about how many people just looked the other way and drove past the helpless cat. It's so bad how many people leave animals to their fate and don't help. Out of helplessness, lack of empathy or convenience, we don't know.\u00a0
We also took this poor soul to the emergency clinic to see how serious the injuries were. We had her operated on, her jaw was broken. We will hopefully be able to nurse her back to full health and hope that she will have a long and healthy life afterwards. As he had surgery on his jaw and mouth, he is now wearing a neck brace. This is to prevent the little one from scratching the scar. We take it off several times a day so that he can eat and drink without any problems. We take care of the hours of cleaning that cats do all day long, using cleaning cloths for the fur, because he can't do that on his own with this neck brace. Both cats are currently tearing a big hole in the Animal Police coffers. We would be delighted if we could find someone among our readers who would like to sponsor one of the two velvet paws. Lawn mower on 4 legs!<\/h5>
In the last few weeks, it has rained again and again on Mallorca. The lawn, weeds and wild flowers grow so quickly in such weather that we can't keep up with cutting everything short with the mower.\u00a0<\/div>
We don't really do that, but this time we put our sheep, ponies, horses and donkeys to work. It's also kind of legal, we thought. They work, but in return they have food all day. A win-win situation that our animals obviously enjoyed, because a little trip to another field or enclosure can be a bit of an adventure.\u00a0<\/div>

\u00a0We are currently dealing with a very serious case of animal abuse here on the island of Mallorca. A few days ago it became known through social media that there is a woman and her daughter who run a horse farm. The horses on this farm are being mistreated and there are photos and videos to prove it. We promise you, we are on it and will help these animals.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>

- Rolls of hay have been delivered<\/div>
- We ploughed 9 thousand square metres of field\u00a0<\/div>
- Spring cleaning done in every corner of the finca<\/div>
- Plants, trees and shrubs cut back\u00a0<\/div>
- And our two golf caddies have been repaired, because walking round the yard all day is simply too time-consuming.\u00a0<\/div>
