March 2024

You love,
The popular newsletter is online again.
Many of you have been asking when the newsletter will be back. We would like to share our life with the animals with you again. A little insight into our daily work with the animals. And all of you are very welcome at Finca Noah. We will be happy to welcome you and show you the farm and the animals in person.

I am Nadine. In July 2022, I saw Farah de Tomi's call for help on Facebook that she urgently needed help for her farm and animals due to illness.
In the beginning, I volunteered three times a week with my son, now 13 years young, to help out on the farm. During this time, Farah and I realised that it wasn't just our love of animals that united us. We fell in love. Now I'm there for the animals and for Farah seven days a week.
I hope I have been able to give you a small impression of what we do for the animals every day.

Oskar & Otto

Our second oldest dog, Oskar, 14 years old, a shepherd mix, still quite fit for his age, came to Finca Noah together with his best friend Otto, 16 years old, in the summer of 2023. Both come from the Natura Parc killing centre. Oskar had very bad teeth, some of which our vet had to remove so that he could eat again without any problems and put on weight again. Oskar hardly ate because of the pain. You all know that, who likes to chew when he has a toothache.

Oskar loves to play and cuddle with small children, he has great fun with them, blossoms and forgets that he is actually a grandad. Oskar had an operation on his tail in March, a large scar which our vet doubts will heal without any problems. Amputation of the tail is not ruled out at the moment. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed for dear Oskar that the scar will heal well and remain closed when the stitches are removed. We hope so much that dear Oskar will be spared another operation.

The German shepherd dog Heidi

Heidi was also at Natura Parc when she was 7 years old. She had a family, but her owner suddenly became ill and sadly passed away. As none of the family wanted to keep Heidi, she was simply handed over to the largest killing centre on the island of Mallorca, like goods that are returned when they are no longer needed or don't work. Heidi no longer understood the world. She didn't realise why she was no longer allowed to be with her family, why she was now locked up. She hadn't done anything wrong. She almost gave up with sadness.

She sat sadly in her far too small cage (2 m2) on the cold concrete floor, and hoped so much that her family would pick her up again.
She didn't want any treats. She also didn't want any toys to keep her busy on her own. She just wanted to be with people. She was introduced to us as a very sweet, social and loving dog. A friend of Farah's, who has been working as a volunteer at this killing centre for years, contacted Farah once again. She knows that Farah loves German shepherds more than anything. Without hesitation, Farah brought Heidi to live with her at Finka Noah. The fact that Heidi has a big problem with cats and small dogs was more or less concealed from us, or was not known to this extent. In any case, it was impossible to take Heidi into our private dog pack. I'm sure you all know our little dog Mrs Meier. She would have been Heidi's favourite, as they say. Otherwise a really beautiful dog. We did everything we could every day to find a new home for Heidi as quickly as possible. She was allowed to fly to cold Switzerland for the very first time with feelings of happiness in her stomach. In beautiful Ticino, the dog experienced Yvonne had to wait excitedly for Heidi for a week. The journey had to be planned and all the documents for Heidi, as well as vaccinations, neutering, chip, passport, etc. had to be prepared.
We always say goodbye to our fosterlings with a smile on our faces, tears in our eyes and feelings of happiness in our stomachs. Because we wish every single animal we place only the best.
Heidi can now just be a dog in beautiful Ticino, with Yvonne, and a loyal soul for her new mum.
We really give everything for happy endings like this....

Tomcat in distress

A large animal welfare organisation on Mallorca has asked us for help. Four beautiful tomcats have been locked up in Natura Parc for months, screaming to get out. Presumably these tomcats were simply left at the animal shelter, or they were abandoned, which is unfortunately not uncommon on Mallorca. The organisation had no capacity to take in these four cats temporarily. Without hesitation we said, get them out immediately, the four of them can recover from all the stress with us and you can look for a nice and loving home in the meantime.

They took our hearts by storm. And after just eight weeks in foster care, we had to say goodbye with a heavy heart. Because they were allowed to travel to Germany. Only the certainty that an animal gets a nice home, with lots of love, attention, a warm bed to just be, always a full bowl of food, makes us look up and keep going.
All these animals need us!

Help to save the animals in Mallorca from the streets. Every contribution goes 100% to the animals. All organization members work charitably and receive no compensation for their efforts.

Also by liking, commenting & sharing you can help us make life better for the animals here on Mallorca.
